We bid our last respect to
"Coach"
Soichi Sakamoto, who
founded Hawaii Swimming Club in 1945 and Started the Keo Nakama
Swimming Invitationals in 1946.
As early as the mid-1930's,
he developed interval training, speed play in the irrigation
ditch flumes (currently known as Fartlek-training), the swim
bench. He was truly an innovative coach - ahead of his time !
