AGE GROUP SWIMMING
Leoho'onani Reyes led five Molokai Swim Team members into the second short course meet of the season. The War Memorial Pool, just completed with repairs, was the site of the meet and Reyes worked a strong opening half of her 100 Yard Breaststroke heat to win the event with a zone-qualifying time. It will be her second qualification for the Western Zones as she recently returned from a similar competition in Wyoming during the long course season.

Leo also earned a state qualifying time in the 200 Yard Freestyle (3rd) and the 50 Yard Backstroke (3rd). She completed her day with a National B time in the 100 Yard Butterfly (6th).

Mahinameli Reyes competed in two age groups. She won the 25 Yard Freestyle and the 25 Yard Butterfly in the 8 & Under division. She also swam in the 10 & Under division and continues to hold her own against the older competition in the 100 Yard Breaststroke (10th) and 50 Yard Backstroke (8th).

Lenn Yonemura attained state qualifying times in the 200 Yard Freestyle (5th) and 100 Yard Breaststroke (5th) events. He also swam in the 100 Yard Butterfly (7th) and the 200 Yard Backstroke (6th).

That will be the final meet for 1996 as the age group swimmers will not return to competition until mid-January, 1997.
