The Molokai Swimming Meet held last Saturday morning at the Cooke Memorial Pool was billed as a FUN meet for the swimmers of three Hawaii Swim Clubs. Thirty-six swimmers from HSC-Hilo, Kahului and Molokai appeared to enjoy the relays and "races" as a prelude to the upcoming season. The swimmers, coaches and parents were welcomed by the Molokai team including Coaches David Kalani and Lloyd Yonemura, and the families of the Molokai team members.
The final contest involved the strongest swimmers from each team vying for the "Coach Kalani award". Michael Nishimitsu was able to vertical kick while holding a 10 pound weight for 1 minute and 4 seconds !
The Molokai Swim Team will begin fall workouts in late September or early October. Contact Coach David Kalani or Lloyd Yonemura for more information
