Aloha to all Hawaii clubs and coaches
Happy New Year from the Garden Island of Kauai. Congratulations on a great Short Course season and here is looking forward to great things this coming year. The year of the Boar.
I am sending this email because it has been brought to my attention for the second year in a row that stories are being spread that Mokihana Aquatics is no more and our annual Fun Meet, the best swim meet on Kauai and arguably the state, will no longer be run. Both of these are not true. Mokihana Aquatics is alive and well, celebrating 38 years of service on Kauai. That's 38 years young. Check our website at www.mokihanaaquatics.com for a list of our accomplishments. No other program on Kauai has even come close to the accomplishments we have made over the years.
Regarding Fun Meet 2019, it is on. We already have commitments from several teams like Maui Swim Club, PCA, HSC, and Hilo to name a few. The only meet with a spirit contest. Who remembers when we had de facto cheering contests at all the major meets? Those were great days when we were one big family. Our FREE Mahalo Luau for all traveling teams will again be at the iconic Smith's Tropical Paradise with games, prizes, the best luau food on Kauai, and great live Hawaiian entertainment. Our Fun Meet 2019 will be the 31st and will be held at the Kapaa pool on August 17th and 18th, 2019 as posted on the Hawaii meet calendar. Our Fun Meet is always on Statehood weekend. We do not change dates.
So, just wanting to set the record straight. Looking forward to seeing some of you in Hilo at Sparky's in March
A hui hou.
